Everyone has a startup idea. But everyone doesn’t have the technical chops to get that idea off the ground… or the money to pay a designer or developer to do it. Does this sound like you?
Don’t be a designer’s worst nightmare.
Don’t ask someone to work for free.
Don’t beg for work in exchange for equity.
Professor Josh to the rescue! Josh has helped validate and launch a ton of new ideas and shared some of his favorite tools and tricks in an McGaw.io webinar. Here are my favorite tips and tricks from Josh:
Quick MVP
Always validate your idea before you invest time, money, and energy into creating version one of your product. Customer validation doesn’t have to be time-consuming. Quick MVP lets you validate your idea with an easy to build minimum viable product (MVP)- a landing page and some targeted traffic via Google Ads. They make it super simple to create both in under 5 mins.
Pop App
Don’t try to learn expensive design tools to prototype the first iteration of your app. Transform your chicken scratch notes and doodles into a working digital prototype. Add the functionality of buttons, transitions, and gestures to bring your sketches to life on your phone.
Strikingly
Strikingly is a stupid-simple tool to create a beautiful website in minutes. I love WordPress, but it can be a little confusing to setup and make edits for first-timers. Strikingly bypasses all of the setup and jumps you right into creating beautiful layouts with an integrated form builder and basic analytics. If Professor Josh AND Seth Godin use it- it must be awesome!
